Practical physics is often the subject that most technicians fear the most. Well, after this one day online and interactive course hopefully your fears will be put to one side!

Together we will explore tricks to prep physics, identifying and setting up physics equipment, the required practicals, innovative physics demos and practicals ideas for the scheme of work, touching on most areas on the 11-16 curriculum.

During the day there will be a mixture of live demonstrations, videos, chats about good practice. It is therefore essential tha participants have a microphone and speaker, by way of good audio, to engage positively with each other and maximise their experience on the day.

9.00-10.30 Introduction / Physics issues and organisation ideas / Circuits and Electricity / Forces / Magnets and Electromagnets

11.00-12.30 Radioactivity / Sound and Light / Conduction and Convection

13.30-15.00 GCSE and A Level Resources / Physics Toys / Evaluation and Plenary

Outcomes - participants will be able to:

Describe a range of innovative physics practicals

Implement good physics preparation practice

Develop confidence in setting up and making physics practicals work.

Evaluate the importance of physics practical in the schools SOW

Explore relevant health and safety issues around physics preparation and practicals.

Please note that participants will be requested to pay by bank card upon completion of Eventbrite registration. A receipt for payment will be generated to the email address used during the registration process. Thank you.
