Ms Nicola Beverley

Primary Science Consultant

Sector: Primary
Specialism: Primary Science

Biography:

An experienced primary consultant with a passion for science, I’ve worked with numerous primary teachers, subject leaders and schools in diverse ways over the years; helping to firm up science ‘wobbly bits’, putting the ‘wow’ back into dreary science lessons, creating effective (and practical) ways to assess children’s learning and empowering subject leaders, so that they feel confident to lead rather than just manage their subject. While virtual learning has had to be the way to go for most of the last year or more, I’m excited to be able to share my love of science with others directly once more!
As an enthusiastic PSQM (Primary Science Quality Mark) Senior Regional Hub Leader I have seen first-hand the benefits of the process to schools and subject leaders. I’m an author of ‘Snap Science’, a teaching resource from Collins Education; part of the PLAN assessment team; and a curriculum advisor for KS2 assessment at the STA (Standards and Testing Agency of DfE). As a committed member of ASE (Association for Science Education) I regularly attend and contribute to conferences and meetings and am involved in the local East Midlands, national ASE Primary and ASE Futures committees. I am proud to be recognised as a Chartered Science Teacher (CSciTeach) and also as a STEM learning Senior Facilitator.

ASE Region: North & East Midlands (Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire and Rutland)
