Biography:

Amanda has been a science teacher for 34 years and has occupied most leadership roles from Head of Science to Head teacher in a variety of schools. She recently worked with the British Science Association (funded by Gatsby) on a pilot project to look at the feasibility of incorporating CREST awards into the curriculum. Amanda is passionate about engaging young people and supporting teachers in carrying out meaningful practical science work. Amanda is a published co-author for an award winning KS3 science text and has also developed online resources for many well known organisations.

Amanda has worked successfully with a number of schools in the Oxfordshire and Wiltshire regions to support school improvement within science and leadership. She is a qualified coach and uses this expertise to support leaders make effective and sustainable changes.
She has been a SCITT tutor for six years, an ECT facilitator and is a Governor for the Oxford SCITT.

She has worked as a Senior Practical Monitor for A-level Biology as well as a triple science adviser and previous Regional Development Lead for STEM in Oxfordshire. Amanda enjoys the opportunity to deliver INSET to Science teachers and Heads of Science on a regular basis.

Amanda has been an Apprentice Assessor for the NCE Level 3 Master teacher programme for teachers aspiring to take up leadership positions.
