We are thrilled to announce our upcoming series on the applications of Artificial Intelligence in the science classroom. This exciting series will equip you with practical insights and strategies and give you the confidence and skills to innovate your teaching practice. Whether you have already dabbled in AI or are completely new, join us to find out from experts in the field and educators just like you.   

All sessions will be delivered free to ASE members and will be remote via Zoom. 

Webinar 1: Unlocking the Power of AI with Priya Lakhani OBE  
22nd May at 4.30pm

 

Priya will provide a comprehensive introduction to AI, tracing its evolution and exploring its diverse applications in education. From enhancing student engagement to reducing workload, discover how AI can revolutionize your teaching practice and unleash untapped potential in the classroom. 

This session is suitable for all science educators regardless of role or age-phase. 
 
With more than 10 years of experience as an AI entrepreneur in the education sector, Priya has unparalleled knowledge of the subject. A prominent speaker at education and tech industry events, she most recently hosted a panel with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Elon Musk during the inaugural AI Safety Summit. On TV, Priya is part of the AI Decoded team on the BBCs flagship programme The Context and appears regularly across global media. 

Webinar 2: Exploring AI applications in Science Education 

5th June at 4.30pm

Join us for our second webinar, where we will delve deeper into the intersection of AI and the science classroom.  The conversation will be led by Chris Goodall, a leading EdTech innovator and Head of Digital Education with the Bourne Education Trust.  He will be joined by his science team who have taken their first steps in AI and will share the benefits and tips of how to get started.  They have been testing out different platforms and will give you the lowdown on what has worked for them.  They will share first hand experiences and practical strategies to get started. 

This session will be more suitable for secondary and FE teachers but there will be themes that are applicable across the age phases. 

Webinar 3: Empowering Educators: A Panel Discussion on AI in the Science Classroom 

11th June at 6pm

Concluding our series is an interactive panel discussion featuring experimenters and passionate advocates of AI in science from across the age phases.  Gain valuable insights as our panellists share their personal journeys, practical tips and transformative experiences with AI in the classroom. The panel will include Danny Nicholson, primary teacher and AI enthusiast, David Paterson, secondary teacher and nationally recognised educator and more.
