ASE South Asia Conference a huge success

We’re delighted to be able to report that the recent ASE South Asia Conference was a tremendous success, bringing together more than 150 delegates from over 40 international schools across 10 countries in the region for an inspiring day of professional learning and networking.

Generously supported by Philip Harris / Findel International, and taking place at the impressive Bangkok Patana School, the full-day event saw delegates choose from an array of more than 20 sessions for secondary educators and science technicians.

Tackling an array of subjects ranging from field trips and environmental awareness to cognitive conflict and curriculum modelling, the three sets of sessions, delivered by local experts, were bookended by a keynote on Practical Work in Science Learning by Kings’ College’s Professor Christine Harrison and a closing address by ASE CEO Lynn Ladbrook. Delegates were also able to explore an exhibition featuring the latest products from a range of science education suppliers, along with a St Patrick’s Day-themed social event at the end of the day.

Matt Baker, Head of Science at Bangkok Patana School and the driving force behind the event, said: “The buzz and energy during the day was palpable. After three years of online CPD events due to Covid, the thirst for returning to face-to-face events was genuine. The question I kept getting asked was “When does the sign-up for next year’s conference go live? I’m delighted that the whole day went so well!”

We’re certainly keen to repeat the experience at Bangkok Patana School and will of course share details of next year’s event when we have them. If you represent an international school and are interested in working with us to host a similar event, don't hesitate to get in touch with the events team via conferences@ase.org.uk.
