Welcome to March SSR (Issue 390). This issue covers an interesting range of articles and includes our 2024 ASE Presidential Address.

SSR in Practice: This issue of SSR in Practice covers a range of interesting articles on themes such as, metacognitive questioning, language of diagrams and applying structure strips to 6-mark questions. You will also be able to read about our new book Grappling with Graphs in the article Grappling with Graphs: supporting students with graph interpretation as it is open access for everyone to read.

SSR in Depth: This issue of SSR in Depth includes the 2024 ASE Presidential Address from Professor Michael Reiss, together with articles on topics promoting constructivism among secondary science trainee teachers, effective secondary physics pedagogy in the UK, and curriculum reform in science.


SSR is the ASE journal for 11-19 members and those with access to library membership. Articles are aimed at those working in 11-19 science education both in the UK and internationally, including new and experienced teachers, teacher trainees, teacher educators, school leaders and Heads of Department, advisers, consultants and technicians.
