In this activity children are introduced to ideas about evolution in the context of habitats and environment.
Description
Research into how evolution works was named top science achievement of 2005 by the prestigious US journal Science.
Children are introduced to ideas about evolution in the context of habitats and environment. Children then design new features they would like humans to evolve to help us to survive more easily in modern habitats.
Learning Objective:
- Evolution happens by chance. Animals and plants often evolve in response to changes to habitats.
Children will learn:
- To design appropriate and innovative features they would like to see humans evolve in order to help us survive more easily in modern habitats.
These resources were initially developed in partnership with the Centre for Science Education, Sheffield Hallam University.
