In this activity children will become Bone Detectives, looking at skulls to see what they tell them about animals places on the food chain and diet.
Description
Jake McGowen-Lowe is a teenage bone collector from Scotland. He has been collecting skulls and bones since he was six. He has been interviewed about his hobby on BBC Newsround. Jake's love of nature and his skills as a science communicator have also placed him in the BBC Wildlife Magazine's Wildlife Power list.
Learning Objective: Children will be able to work scientifically by:
- Identifying and classifying by making systematic and careful observations.
Children will learn:
- To identify predators and prey by comparing the skulls of two mammals.
