Description

A PGCE Enhancement Programme is described, which provided newly trained teachers with seminar sessions on the education of gifted students in science (and mathematics) and the opportunity to observe and work alongside gifted students attending NAGTY summer schools in science. The tutors on this programme have since compiled and published a resource pack for secondary science teachers including a host of different activities. The article outlines the philosophy that underpins the PGCE+ programme and the resource pack. It also includes examples of the different types of activities developed and trialled.
