Engaging students with nature and outdoor science using an outdoor escape room approach

Description
Abstract: Escape rooms have become popular recreational group activities, and the genre has been adopted to help engage learners in a variety of educational settings, including in school science labs. In this article we describe a further novel adaptation: taking escape rooms outside the classroom to encourage students to explore the natural environment around them. These outdoor escape room puzzles can provide an inspiring way to support outdoor science activities.
