Overview

There has been competition for space in SSR this year, and from Berry Billingsley comes the second part of the theme begun in the March edition - the role and relevance of science in addressing global concerns.  Also in this edition is a further section dealing with the implications and impact of the global Coronavirus pandemic on science teaching in schools and colleges, with articles on practical science in schools in the 'new normal', the effect of existing health literacy on decisions being made in the light of the pandemic, and a piece explaining the mathematics behind the  possible spread of a epidemic and the efforts to control it.
