Earth Science Education Unit workshops: an evaluation of their impact
Issue 347 | Page 25 | Published Dec 2012
Description
The Earth Science Education Unit (ESEU) is an industry education partnership providing short Earth science workshops across the UK. Following research into UK Earth science teaching, the ESEU was piloted and then rolled out across the UK. Over the 13 years of ESEU operations, its network of 40 trained facilitators has provided workshops for more than 23000 teachers and trainee teachers (secondary and primary), with high levels of positive feedback. ESEU research has shown that the schools visited have changed their teaching following the workshop. The ESEU approach may be unique in terms of its strategy and effectiveness.
