In July 2008, the Royal Society of Chemistry launched Discover Chemistry, a chemistry education partnership with Pfizer UK, to help secure a pool of talented, motivated scientists with skills to meet the future needs of employers, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry. This review describes the background to the programme, the principal objectives and the resources and activities that have been funded through this partnership.
