Overview

Welcome to the new format of SSR, and the first issue of the new, practitioner-led, professionally reviewed SSR in Practice. Just like a school science department, the ASE community is made up of a range of science education professionals, including science leaders, classroom teachers and technicians working with students aged 11–19, as well as those who work in early-years settings, primary schools (5–11), further education (FE) and the initial teacher education (ITE) sector. This new aspect of SSR aims to provide readers with more targeted material and also to encourage more practitioners to write for the journal and share their ideas of good practice. The journal is published alongside SSR in Depth, also now available online, and the two parts of the journal are designed to work in tandem.
